Margret Khairallah
Painting & Printmaking
When I was a kid, my aunt took me to the Detroit Institute of Art, it was then and there I knew that I wanted to be an artist. I try to draw almost every day, building on workshops and studio courses that I’ve taken. I have evolved into a multimedia, nature-inspired artist, with an emphasis on hand-pulled linocut prints. Additionally, I am exploring acrylic painting. The process is essential to me; studying color, line, shape, and texture are exciting. When I paint, I am in the zone, trying to get to the essence of the object, taking all of these “studies” and develop a work of art that brings the viewer into my world. I am the mother of 4 children and grandmother of 9 grandchildren.
I have been exhibiting in juried shows since the 1980’s; Valley Art Center, Russell Women’s Art show, Fairmont annual show, Solon Art Guild Proscenium, 10th annual Willoughby Fine Art Center, Woman’s City Club-Society for Nature Artists 8th annual Exhibition, Batavia, NY Spaces Member Exhibit. My education was received at the Cleveland Institute of Art-evening classes, Lakeland College, and Kent State.
