This week we are excited to feature two artists that are contributing to the success of the gallery! Brown Bear Pottery and Whimsical Winged Creations. Since opening the gallery, we have been lucky enough to be a stop on the Destination Geauga Drive it yourself tour. We are honored to have been included again this year as well!
Brown Bear Pottery
First of the featured artists is Joy and her husband Zack Ingram of Brown Bear Pottery. They have graciously offered to demonstrate the art of wheel throwing her beautiful pottery pieces. A delight that will entertain those that visit during this wonderful event. They will be here this Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm once again sharing their talents. Joy is a native of Newbury, graduating from Newbury High School in 1993. She met her loving husband Zack at Ohio University. Zack recently left his job after 18 years. The two of them are now working together at building the pottery business that they love. Brown Bear Pottery is a treasure to have here in Geauga County and especially Newbury. During the summer and fall, they are on the road manning their booth at numerous Arts and Craft Festivals. Don’t miss this special event where you see the magic behind the scene!
Whimsical Winged Creations
Danielle Magdych of Whimsical Winged Creations spends her time creating one of a kind sparkly and aromatic works of art for your home or to wear. You may have had the pleasure of meeting her at the gallery last year being my ever-gracious assistant. After spending the winter snow birding, I am delighted to say that she is back! She brings her sparkly personality and new creations to the gallery once again. With new designs in her aromatherapy jewelry, we are excited to be offering a workshop where you will create your own work of wearable art. It will give you the benefits of aromatherapy that are beyond beautiful. The workshop will be posted very soon, so please keep your eye out!
In closing, I would like to thank all of our creative and talented artists, especially Chuck and Barbra Gates. Each one of you helps create a gallery that is a gem for Geauga County, in the heart of Newbury, Ohio. A destination worth the drive! I hope to see you this Saturday for a fun-filled day of art and inspiration!
