Don Winton, Artisan

Don has been a woodworker most of his adult life but in 1989, inspired by the ceramic artistry of Robert Eckels (former head of the ceramics department at Boston College) he began working in ceramics.  Don now works in both mediums separately or combines the two to create sculptural and functional pieces.  Works include; ceramic vessels, serving trays, cheese boards, handcrafted furniture with ceramic inserts, music stands, and chair restoration.

Don operates Windsong Studios, his work has been featured at the Discover Ellicottville Gallery, in Ellicottville, New York, the Griffis Sculpture Park, Ashford Hollow, New York,  The Cleveland Garden Center, Eye Candy Gallery in Tremont, the Gates Mills Art Show, Fairmont Center Art Show, Lakeland College “New May Show” 2010 and 2011 and Artisans’ Corner Gallery In Newbury, Ohio.
